The inaugural meeting of the Tesla Owners Club of BC was held yesterday evening (February 16, 2016) in Vancouver. The turnout was very promising, especially given the relatively short notice and geographic expanse of interest! Eighteen prospective members attended in person, with four more appearing via Skype from outside of the Vancouver area. We were also very happy to host not one, but two, Tesla Motors employees as well. We are encouraged by the support that Tesla is showing our group!
The meeting was chaired by Paul Carter. Key items of business discussed included:
- Club support offered by Tesla Motors
- Club incorporation and structure under Societies Act
- Club executive/directors
- Local directors
- Budget considerations
- Mission Statement
- EV lobbying efforts
- Event ideas
- Social media
Ideas flowed freely and several members volunteered for executive duty.
